Resumen

An analysis of the legal mobilization driven by the pro-abortion feminist movement in Colombia highlights the role of law, both in sustaining the status quo and in its potential to facilitate social change. Methodology: This paper examines the legal strategies used by this movement, focusing on their interaction with constitutional law and their participation before the Constitutional Court. Results: The movement has employed legal tools to present its demands, highlighting strategic litigation as its central axis, which has allowed for active citizen participation without restrictive formal requirements. Discussion: The exclusivity in the use of constitutional actions proved insufficient, leading the movement to diversify its tactics by promoting legal knowledge, accompanying cases, legislative monitoring, and directly intervening in the Constitutional Court. This process favored a transformation of the abortion debate, replacing religious arguments with legal and scientific foundations. Conclusions: The legal mobilization of the pro-abortion feminist movement in Colombia demonstrates how the law, in strategic contexts, can be an effective tool for promoting social change and reshaping the constitutional discourse surrounding reproductive rights.
