Governments promote postgraduate education to enhance professional competitiveness, improve employment opportunities, secure decent wages, and elevate the quality of life. This type of education not only benefits individuals but also drives economic and social development, fostering innovation and enhancing international competitiveness. Considering this, the study aims to identify organizational management strategies that ensure student retention in postgraduate programs, reducing dropout rates and promoting successful completion of studies. Methodology: Through a scoping review based on the PRISMA (2020) model, 40 articles on retention strategies in postgraduate programs were analyzed. Results: The findings highlighted various effective strategies, such as academic, career, and personal counseling services, academic tutoring, a flexible and relevant curriculum design, appropriate technological platforms, and communities for interaction and support. Conclusions: The study emphasizes the importance of effective organizational management and strong institutional support for the success of students in postgraduate programs. Implementing these strategies can produce highly qualified professionals capable of facing labor market challenges and contributing to the sustainable development of their communities and countries.
